iMacolor is a Control Panel document that replace the standard Trash icon and 6 color Apple Menu icon with iMac-like icons. There are 6 color variations so that it matches all iMac colors.
Requirements
iMacolor requires Mac OS 8.0 or later. No hardware requirements (you can use it with either 68K and PPC models).
Besides, you may be able to use iMacolor with System 7.1 and later if the Appearance Manager 1.02 or later is installed. However, please understand that I have not tested under such environment since I do not have such computer environment.
Installation
To install iMacolor, just drag and drop either one to System folder under Finder, or copy it to the Control Panel folder of the System folder. Once you copied the iMacolor to Control Panel folder, double click the icon of iMacolor to open the setting dialog (as seen below)
Select the color for each item using popup menu. If you do not want to change it and want to use the default icon (Tin Trash and/or 6 color Apple Menu icon) select 'No Change' at the top of the popup menu item.
The change will take effect after restart, so please restart your computer to see the icons you have selected.
Note
Unline my software iTrash v2.01, iMacolor ver 1.0 does not have the capability of playing sound resource when the trash is being emptied.
If the Appearance Theme that contains trash icons (such as Hi-Tech, Gizmo...), system overrides the iMacolor icons with the trash icons in the theme file.
Appendix
Enclosed icon sets are the small present to help the total color cordinate. Feel free to use the icons for your favolite folder or hard disk. If you do not know how to use custom icons, please ask your Mac buddy. (Sorry but do not send an email to me to ask how to do this)
